Fukuoka is famous for its professional baseball team, the Fukuoka Softbank Hawks.
I went to the PayPay Dome, home of the Hawks, to watch a game between the Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks and the Chiba Lotte Marines, and I would like to write a blog about it.
I will also introduce some gourmet foods that are only available at the PayPay Dome.
PayPay Dome, home of the Fukuoka Softbank Hawks
The Fukuoka SoftBank Hawks were founded in 1938 as the Nankai Hawks, followed by the Nankai Hawks, Daiei Hawks, and Fukuoka Daiei Hawks before being renamed to their current name in 2005.
Since 2003, the team has won the Pacific League championship for five consecutive years and the Japan Series a total of six times in 2003, 2011, 2014, 2015, 2017, and 2018.
The Fukuoka Softbank Hawks have a very dedicated fan base, especially in Fukuoka, and the environment at home games is always enthusiastic.
The team’s mascot, Harry Hawk, is also well known to fans.
The Hawks won the game 8-1!
The game was a great win with the Hawks scoring 6 runs in the first inning! It was fun!
We were able to see our main players Yanagida and Kondo bat, and our starting pitcher Otsu pitched tenaciously even with runners on base each time.
It was great to see Otsu, who got his first win as a starter, Sawayanagi and Iwai pitching for the first time!
We also thoroughly enjoyed “Lucky 7” and “Fireworks of Victory.”
Here’s a video of the “Lucky 7 Jet Balloons” and the “Victory Fireworks.”
If you like, please watch it. It will make you want to go to the Dome to see the baseball game.
The first pitch was thrown by…! Mr. Takaaki Ishibashi of Tunnels!
The first pitch on 4/4 was thrown by “Takaaki Ishibashi,” one of Japan’s leading comedians!
It’s wonderful that he throws from the front of the mound so as not to pollute the mound before the game starts. You can tell he loves baseball.
It was a one-bounce game, but it was very exciting!
Here’s a video of it!
Offers gourmet food from the Dome!
The most popular drink at PayPay Dome is “Lemon Shochu-Hai”!
It is very tasty because the ice is lemon too.
The vendors also sell it, so you can order it anytime you want. If you have a chance to watch a game at the Dome, I highly recommend Lemon Shochu-hi!
Also, I had Udon University food for the first time and it was very good.
I think the soup stock is probably delicious. It made me want to go back to eat udon as well.
