The Fukuoka Castle Cherry Blossom Festival is one of the most popular cherry blossom festivals in the city, with approximately 1,000 cherry trees in full bloom.
Locals, of course, but if you come to Fukuoka for sightseeing during this time of the year, we hope you will enjoy the cherry blossom festivals in Ohori Park and Maizuru Park!
Cherry blossoms are very beautiful!
It is so beautiful and the cherry blossoms are so beautiful! There were so many cherry trees in bloom and the cherry blossoms were like a roof of pink tunnels that were so exciting.
It was just a pity that it was cloudy in Fukuoka this year when the cherry blossoms were in bloom. I think it would have been more beautiful if it wasn’t cloudy, so let’s hope for sunny weather next year.
There were also many stalls lined up at the festival site, where visitors could enjoy delicious local food and interesting souvenirs. There are pizza and takoyaki (octopus dumplings) from local stores, so you can enjoy that too.
Lots of stalls! (Splatoon is different)
The festival site was lined with many stalls where visitors could enjoy delicious local food and interesting souvenirs.
Local stores were offering takoyaki (octopus dumplings) and yakitori (grilled chicken), and this was a great opportunity to get to know the stores. All looked delicious!
This time I had takoyaki from the “Laughing Fish” stall! It was not just takoyaki for the time being, but a proper takoyaki and very tasty!
There is a stamp rally and a children’s play area for families.
During the Cherry Blossom Festival, there was a stamp rally where visitors could go around the venue and collect stamps while learning about the history of Fukuoka Castle and Korokan.
If you collect all the stamps, you will receive a free admission ticket to Softbank Hawks and a 20% off coupon for BOSS E・ZO FUKUOKA! (I didn’t do it because there were too many stamps in 11 places…)
Also, there was a fully equipped children’s play area (for a fee), making it a great place to visit with the family. Kids can play to their heart’s content even when they get tired of the cherry blossoms.
The Fukuoka Castle Sakura Matsuri was a wonderful festival with beautiful cherry blossoms, local food and culture, and a playground for the whole family to enjoy. It was a memorable experience that makes us want to visit again next year.
The “Phantom Keep” is on the keep of Fukuoka Castle!
At night, the cherry blossoms and the historic site are lit up, creating a different view from the one you usually see at Fukuoka Castle Ruins.
In the illuminated area (for a fee), you can enter places that are not usually visible at night and enjoy the fantastic atmosphere.

The street performance took place amidst cherry blossoms in full bloom!
We were also able to see street performances at the Cherry Blossom Festival.
It was a lot of fun! I want to see it again.
