The Ganjang Gejang at Spice Table is made with fresh crabs marinated in a special soy sauce. The sweetness of the crab meat combined with the richness of the sauce makes for a satisfying dish! The flavor is well-infused!

It offers an authentic taste of Korean cuisine, and its deliciousness attracts not only locals but also people from outside the prefecture.

Yangnyeom Gejang features a sauce with a perfect level of spiciness, and the crab meat is fresh and tender. The spicy kick of the sauce enhances the flavor, and the final touch of mixing the crab roe with rice is absolutely delicious!

Both Ganjang Gejang and Yangnyeom Gejang are eaten with gloves and hands, which might feel a bit unfamiliar at first, but it’s a lot of fun. Overall, the satisfaction is high, and the deliciousness will make you smile!

Since the crabs need to be marinated in soy sauce, reservations are required! Make sure to book in advance!

They can also help with portion sizes when you make a reservation. For two people, the portions are quite large, so if you’re ordering both dishes, one portion of each should be just right. It was the perfect amount.

Shrimp marinated in soy sauce (Ganjang Saeu)

This is the “Ganjang Saeu” that I reserved along with the Ganjang Gejang, as recommended when I made my reservation.

It’s made with large red shrimp marinated in soy sauce from the day before, similar to the Ganjang Gejang.

However, it’s a completely different dish, and the plump shrimp are irresistible! It’s highly recommended for shrimp lovers! It’s also fun to compare it with Ganjang Gejang.

Osam Bulgogi with Squid and Chami Pork

It’s Bulgogi made with squid (tori-sumi) and Chami pork.

The dish is seasoned with spicy miso and green chili peppers, and when wrapped in lettuce, the spiciness, sweetness, sourness, and bitterness hit your mouth all at once.

It’s properly spicy, so I recommend wrapping it in lettuce to enjoy it!

The appetizer platter is also delicious!

The space is warm and inviting, with furniture from America over 80 years old and the use of reclaimed wood, creating a calm and relaxing atmosphere.

There are 16 seats in total, including counter and table seats, and all seats are non-smoking. Coin parking is available nearby, making it convenient for customers driving.

The restaurant’s hours are Monday to Saturday from 18:00 to 23:00, and Sunday and holidays from 17:00 to 23:00. The restaurant is closed on Thursdays. It’s located about a 5-minute walk from the central exit of Yakuin Station on the Nishitetsu Tenjin Ōmuta Line.
