Reviews
I went to "cotoshiro" in the Chuoku Ward, near Daimyo・Akasaka!
I provide a detailed introduction with photos, including recommendations for menu items, the atmosphere of the restaurant, and my actual dining experience. If you're interested, please be sure to check it out.
If you're wondering, "What's the recommended menu?", "Where is it?", or "I want to see photos!",
This is perfect for you!
Meal: Tea and Rice Balls “Simmered Black Wagyu Beef” and “Sesame Kelp”

The rice used for the rice balls is from Karatsu, Saga Prefecture, cooked individually in a clay pot. The grains stand out, and the slightly sweet rice is fluffy and perfectly cooked. It was delicious, with a nice balance between softness and not being too tightly pressed (it broke apart a little).
You can choose from two types of rice balls:
・Salted rice ball
・Mentaiko (add 50 yen)
・Sesame seaweed
・Shirasu and green vegetables
・Braised Wagyu beef (add 50 yen)
・Homemade pork miso
I chose the braised Wagyu beef and sesame seaweed fillings.
The Wagyu beef rice ball has a pleasant ginger aroma, and the rich beef flavor is well-balanced with the sweetness of the rice. The seasoning is rich, but it complements the rice perfectly.
The sesame seaweed has a gentle sweetness and the umami of the seaweed, with the crunchy texture of sesame seeds as an accent. Simple but satisfying.
The small side dishes and pickles are also well-explained:
・Sweet-sour pickled daikon
・Miso soup with the best dashi
・Tamagoyaki with dashi from “Tsumande Go” eggs
・Gamine (vegetable stew)
・Maitake mushrooms and spinach ohitashi
The miso soup and the fluffy tamagoyaki were especially delicious.
A special space to slowly savor a rice ball lunch. It was a luxurious time.
[Meal] Tea and Rice Balls with “Mentaiko” and “Homemade Pork Miso”

The photo shows mentaiko and homemade pork miso rice balls.
Mentaiko has a spicy kick and umami, and its simple yet deep flavor pairs perfectly with the rice.
The homemade pork miso offers a rich and unique flavor. You can clearly taste the umami of the pork and the deep flavor of the miso, providing satisfaction with every bite.
The Tea is Delicious

The tea was very tasty.
It was brewed using cold water, which reduces the bitterness and makes it very easy to drink.
It has a crisp, refreshing flavor, perfect to enjoy alongside the meal. With less bitterness and a smooth mouthfeel, it’s a refreshing cup.
The Atmosphere of the Store is Fantastic

The interior of “Cotoshiro” has dim lighting and a stylish, bar-like atmosphere.
The contrast between the cozy, warm meal and the setting is very striking, yet strangely, you can relax in the space.
It has a hidden, cozy feel, making it a great place to unwind.
The staff are also very friendly, and the experience is comfortable. I recommend it to anyone visiting Fukuoka from outside the prefecture.
